{"id":2914,"date":"2014-02-19T21:21:53","date_gmt":"2014-02-20T04:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ireneskayakingblog.com\/?p=2914"},"modified":"2021-07-09T17:52:55","modified_gmt":"2021-07-10T00:52:55","slug":"video-the-mother-of-all-kayak-boofing-tutorials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ireneskayakingblog.com\/videos\/video-the-mother-of-all-kayak-boofing-tutorials\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: The Mother of All Kayak Boofing Tutorials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The other day I was pondering, as I do most days, about how great it would be if someone made a<\/strong> <strong>completely awesome whitewater kayaking boof stroke teaching video.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One that broke down and explained all the moves, showed people doing different kinds of boofs in regular and slow motion, and superimposed side-by-side clips of kayakers both styling and blowing the lines on the same drops so you could see exactly what the difference was. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What a sweet world this would be, ay?<\/p>\n<p>OK, so then I Googled boofs for like the one hundredth time and for some reason found this video that I hadn&#8217;t seen before by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gene17kayaking.com\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"outline: none;\">Gene 17 Kayaking<\/a> which does all of that.&nbsp; It is indeed completely awesome, and here it is.<\/p>\n<p>Their whole <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC7m7zq1JR8O1KLEVl9HalNA\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"outline: none;\">Youtube channel<\/a> is excellent, they have videos on how to run slides, stoppers, etc.&nbsp; And I just noticed that they have a 49-minute video on Vimeo on <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/15658939\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"outline: none;\">Advanced WW and Steep Creeking<\/a> which I haven&#8217;t watched yet but I&#8217;m guessing is good.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy, and happy boofing.<\/p>\n<p>(I should mention that you have to watch 5 seconds of a commercial before skipping to the start of each video, but seeing as realistically this is far less time than we are likely to spend someday getting window-shaded in a hydraulic from missing a boof stroke I consider this time well spent.) ;)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The other day I was pondering, as I do most days, about how great it would be if someone made a completely awesome whitewater kayaking boof stroke teaching video.
